the VIAUR's Gardens

First step and make a good introduction, I proposed to volunteer for my parents friends greengrocers. Their garden is located in a beautiful cove of nature above the Viaur. Protected from the winds, this haven of peace is conducive to the growth of vegetables and especially biological species of ancient culture. Karine and Fredo launched their project for 15 years now, one could say that it works pretty well.
In the idea not to foresee a lot, I arrived in Villefranche-de-Rouergue, on Thursday market, the atmosphere is there. I was there, doing the market with them 11 years ago, I noticed that our dear gardener are no longer in the same spot.
Overviewing the market and here the stand of plants and good vegetables. I landed with my backpack and announced my intention to help for a week. Fredo is not against!
The market is fairly quiet in June, vegetables are not yet ready and sale of plants coming to an end. After a rather quiet morning we went back to the garden. I set up my camp and made a little trip through the greenhouses and vegetable basking in the sun.
The following days, my first assignment was to weed. And as it comes to organic gardening, we weeded by hand! So here I am squatting to pull weeds that must be careful to recover the roots during lifting, otherwise it's guaranteed proliferation and regrowth!
Onion and zucchini aisles plans are weeded allowing small yellow zucchini instead of having to grow well.
Gardening Lessons: better be squatting and in the direction of the slope that stretched legs, your back will thank you.
Also, if the rain came and you're barefoot, pay attention to your friends the slugs who take shelter in your shoes, otherwise beware slobbering kisses it on your socks!
Organic farming, especially one that Karine and Fredo do, is a noble and friendly natural agriculture. Insecticides are used, but still natural. Also, it counts on the aid of nature against aphids, for example, there are certainly ladybugs, but also the auxiliaries! This is an auxiliary signing of insured loss of these sacred aphids (small white tips are a kind of protective wax against ants, which want to keep aphids)
Other enemies of the gardener, mildew, a parasite that attacks the good vegetables and makes them inedible.
Unfortunately, there is not much to do against this plague, just fingers crossed that leaves us some vegetables.
There are also mice, where it is the cat who chase and also hail, dorifores, etc ..
But this does not discourage the foolhardy who come to produce beautiful and especially good vegetables.
Organic is good, it's a little more expensive than vegetables from supermarkets, but worth the price at least for the taste! Without forgetting the respect for nature and purpose of your health!
Also, if you can, make living small producers, since it is them who make the best products and have the more hard time to live from their trades. So if you're like me and you love the products from the market, look for those with a small sign, a sign of their commitment to offer the best products!
