MILANO ! Just seeing the Central Station, we are impressed by the architecture of buildings!

We go to downtown, in the crushing heat of the early afternoon, and follow the groups of tourists who rush into the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery. Indeed, this gallery with distinguished shops and restaurants reflect a stilted image of the city, not forgetting Milan and Milanese, which, as my sister would say, seems to come straight out of the most exclusive stores!

We eat a bit in Via Torino. Here, even food can be of high fashion!

Then we navigate further South, to the Navigli area, which according to the comments, is worth seeing. It is true that with its canals, the neighborhood is charming, especially when one says Milan was like this before.

After a few round, Margot, our host in Milan gives us appointment in the Mercato Metropolitano. A short tram ride (superb small rail cars whose interior is made with varnished wood, you'd be back in time!) to go grab the bags and we land at the market. Many stands offer the specialties of their regions while mosquitoes (zanzare) will enjoy our fresh meat, one wonders for which one of us the market is made!

6am! OUCH! Lili has to take off quickly from the apartment to take her plane and returned to France. Farewells are fast and a little sleepy.

I begin my second day in Milan by small researches and planning for the rest of the trip before making a turn by the castle and the area in which lies the Bosco Vertical specifically designed for the World Expo.

Un super moment que je n'oublierais pas ! I agree with Margot to meet her after work and we spin our bike through the city center. We drive on the cobblestones, tram rails, sidewalks, here there is no traffic rules !

After enjoying a gelato, towards the park for a game of beach volleyball with Margot. A great moment that I will not forget!

The next day, Margot left Milan to hike in the south of Genova, I got ready go to Verona. Having no host for the evening, I take some time to figure where I'm gonna sleep that night, and then 2-3 messages came in from Couchsurfing, turnaround! Paolo is hosting me, and gave me an appointment in Sirmione in the South of Garda Lake. Underterred, I jump on a train. With all this rush I forgot to validate my ticket, the controller does not make any favours, I have to get off and wait for the next train ..

Once in Sirmione, I join Paolo and Anouk on this small causeway for a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful garden bordering the lake. It feels so good to swim!

7:30 pm, we take the last bus towards Verona. Tonight there is an opera show in the arena, everyone is fancy for the occasion, in fact all Italians are fancy on weekends!

We will do the same and enjoy a pizza in one of the best restaurant in Verona before visiting the city by night.

Paolo tells us some stories about the city eating a gelato! We stop close by a well, the story tells that a young man was in love with a very rich young woman and jumped into the well and died. He had noticed to her that her heart was as cold as the water from the well. So she asked him to checked. The tragedy is that this young woman was also in love with the young man. So she threw also herself into the well and died.

Sunday morning, we visited Verona with our awesome guide Paolo who told us the tragic stories of the town whose most famous is of course the one about Romeo and Juliet. Many tourists accumulate in Juliet's house, and something less glamorous, pose for a picture touching the breast of the statue of the character, it seems that it brings luck in love ...

There are many statues in Verona. We saw the statue of a famous Roman judge holding a ball. Legend tells that the ball falls if an honest man passes under the arch of the statue, for the moment the ball is still there ..

The heat is heavy .. We leave in late afternoon for a swim and discovering the villages along the lake such as Bardolino and Garda.
